On the Wrong Couch

Craig Ferguson is currently the best celebrity interviewer on television—but I don’t watch The Late Late Show, since anyone with conservative leanings is pretty much disinvited. Still, I was curious to see Madeleine Albright as a guest on last night’s show. It seemed pretty bold—and inherently conservative—to have the disastrous Secretary of State appear as a guest so soon after North Korea had enjoyed yet another nuclear-sized laugh over her gullibility in the ’90s.

As I should have expected, last night’s appearance turned out to be a rerun of a Late Late Show from this past April. It was still kind of fun to watch Albright display her idiocy. The only truthful comment in the entire show was when secondary guest Amy Smart assured everyone that it was a good idea to go see (the then-forthcoming) Crank 2—and that movie will certainly hold up better than Albright’s negotiating skills.
