I just endorsed a porn site, but you’ll still have to look elsewhere to find out the full name of punk band A.C. I was recently writing about this cheerfully tasteless hardcore act, and noticed that you can pay $1 each to download many of their very short tunes—including “Beating Up Hippies For Their Drugs At a Phish Concert” and “The Word ‘Homophobic’ Is Gay.” This site certainly can’t endorse plenty of other A.C. song titles, but we were disappointed to see that the legally available tunes don’t include A.C.’s “Laughing When Leonard Peltier Gets Raped in Prison.” It’d be nice to see that title showing up on an iPod.

Speaking of porn (again), let’s salute Rod Dreher as this week’s saddest conservative commentator. I found this article courtesy of Kathy Shaidle, who’s already written a proper dismissal of Dreher’s embracing of Ted Bundy as a victim of adult entertainment. I’ll just note how Dreher admiringly declares that Bundy was never “blaming porn for making him a sex killer.” Dreher can’t understand that Bundy was too smart to say any such thing. Bundy knew that there would always be useful idiots like Dreher and Dr. James Dobson to defend him long after his execution. Sadly, Dreher will remain the kind of namby-pamby voice of conservatism that’ll keep ladies like Shaidle safely blacklisted from certain outlets. I’d say “tragically” if I was referring to my own career, but I’ve grown accustomed to having people explain to me how I’m not really a conservative.

Here’s some happier music news: My five-year-old son is walking around singing a Supertramp song all the time. Father is very proud; Mother is coping as well as can be expected. Deadlines keep looming, so postings for the rest of the week might be infrequent.
